The 2nd annual Champions Trophy Vallamkali is expected to draw a large crowd consisting of 
people of all ages. Thirteen teams (men and women) are expected to compete in the boat races. The teams will include people from Tampa bay and other cities in Florida and neighboring states. The majority of athletes and spectators belong to the Asian Indian community. This successful immigrant community is comprises of people in variety of professions including those in medicine, hospitality, retail, real estate, healthcare, manufacturing to name a few. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, Indian Americans have a median income of around $60,000 which is the highest of any national origin group in the United States and Merrill Lynch recently revealed that there are nearly 200,000 Indian American millionaires. The group of people that will be present at the Tampa Bay Champions Trophy Vallamkali will be a sample of this population.
